The Canadian Digital Adoption Plan (CDAP) is a $4 billion initiative launched by the Canadian government in 2021. Its goal is to help small and medium-sized businesses (SMEs) in Canada to become more competitive by adopting digital technologies. This initiative will provide funding and support to businesses, as well as training and work opportunities for young Canadians.

CDAP's eligibility criteria require SMEs to have earned at least $500,000 of annual revenues – but not more than $100,000,000 – in at least one of the previous three tax years. The company must also have between 1-499 full-time equivalent employees, be a for-profit private company, and be incorporated under the laws of Canada or a province or territory.

CDAP consists of two parts: a grant and a loan. The Boost Your Business Technology funding is for SMEs to improve their position in the digital marketplace. Businesses that meet the minimum requirements are eligible to receive this funding. The Boost Your Business Technology funds will support around 160,000 SMEs.

SMEs can apply for the Boost Your Business Technology grant to cover 90% of the costs involved in hiring a certified digital advisor to create a strategic digital adoption plan, up to a maximum of $15,000. Once funded, SMEs will also be able to apply for an interest-free loan of up to $100,000 from the Business Development Bank of Canada to help them implement their digital adoption plan and acquire new technologies.

The goal of the CDAP is to help Canadian SMEs adopt new digital tools, such as artificial intelligence, machine learning, and robotics, to become more efficient, take advantage of e-commerce, and be more competitive in the domestic and international markets. The initiative intends to assist Canadian SMEs in becoming more efficient, taking advantage of e-commerce and being more competitive in the domestic and international markets.

The CDAP provides SMEs access to a network of Canadian digital experts such as GrowthFinder Pro to meet and who will assist in maximizing digital tools efficiently. This will enable SMEs to identify the technologies they need to adopt, set goals for their digital adoption, and get support for their technology adoption process.

In conclusion, the Canadian Digital Adoption Plan is a significant initiative launched by the Canadian government to help SMEs in Canada adopt digital technologies to improve their competitiveness. SMEs can apply for the Boost Your Business Technology grant to cover 90% of the costs involved in hiring a certified digital advisor to create a strategic digital adoption plan, up to a maximum of $15,000, and can then apply for an interest-free loan of up to $100,000 from the Business Development Bank of Canada to implement their digital adoption plan. With the support of the CDAP, SMEs can get access to the technologies they need to improve their efficiency, take advantage of e-commerce, and compete more effectively in the global marketplace.
